Remove the bacon from the packaging but keep in a whole piece, do not separate.
Slice the bacon from top to bottom into thin strips so that you cut each piece of bacon into a quarter inch slice.
Add all of the sliced bacon into an unheated heavy bottom saucepan, such as a dutch-oven.
Cook over medium to medium high heat.
***Do not allow the heat to get so high that the bacon begins to smoke. If this happens, turn the heat off and allow to cool for 5-10 minutes, then restart the process.
