Turkey Casserole Surprise

Ingredients
- 1 12 ounce package wide egg noodles
- 1 medium onion
- 1 pound ground turkey (can substitute ground beef or ground chicken)
- 2 10.7 ounce cans condensed tomato soup
- 2 Cups water
- ⅛ tsp ground black pepper
- 3 Cups grated cheddar cheese divided
- 1 can peas optional
- Cooking Spray
Instructions
To start:
- Preheat oven to 425° F.
- Cook noodles according to package directions, then drain.
- Spray a sauté pan with cooking spray over medium heat until hot.
- Add onion and ground turkey.
- Cook, stirring occasionally, until lightly browned.
- Spray 13”x9” baking dish with cooking spray.
- Place noodles in bottom of baking dish.
- Spread half of the cheese over the noodles and top with the browned meat.
- Evenly spread the peas over the meat, if using.
- Combine the tomato soup, water, and ground pepper; pour over entire pan.
- Top with other half of cheddar cheese.
Bake:
- Bake for 35-40 minutes at 350° F.
- Remove from oven and cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Refrigerate leftovers immediately.
