Mashed Potatoes in the Instant Pot (No Drain)

Ingredients
- 1.5 pounds golden potatoes sliced into 1.5 inch pieces peeled or unpeeled
- ½ Cup water
- 1 tsp finely chopped/crushed garlic or better than bouillon roasted garlic base
- 2 TBSP butter
- ¼ Cup whole milk
- ½ tsp kosher salt
- ⅛ tsp fresh ground pepper
Instructions
Place in instant pot:
- This recipe works best in a 3 quart Instant Pot. If using a larger instant pot, please double the recipe or more to avoid the burn notice.
- Using the liner that came with the instant pot, add the water and garlic (or garlic base) to the liner.
- Stir.
- Add the potatoes to the liner.
- Place the liner in the instant pot.
Put the lid on the instant pot:
- Put the lid on and lock it.
- Set timer for 10 minutes, then once timer has finished, allow to sit for 5 minutes then do a pressure release.
Mash:
- Add the butter, milk, salt, and pepper to the liner.
- Using a potato masher, mash the potatoes and mix with the butter and milk until smooth and well combined.
- Serve.
Notes
Serving suggestions:
Serve immediately with Vegetarian Meatloaf or your favorite entrée. Refrigerate leftovers immediately.
