Hardboiled Eggs – Instant Pot
Need A Hand
Equipment
- Instant Pot or pressure cooker
Ingredients
- 6 eggs raw in shell
- 1 Cup cold water
Instructions
While the eggs cook:
- Prepare an ice bath: a big bowl of cold water and ice.
- The bowl should be big enough to hold ice, water and your eggs.
- Once the cooker reaches full pressure THEN the 5-minute counter will start counting DOWN.
- Once those 5 minutes are done, it will beep but you’ll need to let it sit for 5 more minutes.
- NOTE: no beep will occur after the second 5 minutes.
- NOTE: the timer will count UP at this time. So either keep an eye on it or set a separate timer.
- Then carefully release the steam by turning the steam valve to release.
- Carefully take the eggs out, using tongs or a slotted spoon, and put them in the prepared ice bath for 5 minutes.
Peeling the eggs:
- Peel eggs one at a time, by tapping the wide side on the counter.
- Then gently roll across the counter, under the palm of your hand.
- The shell should slide off very easily.
- Rinse each egg under running water and dry with a paper towel.
