Grandma’s Pasta Sauce

Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound mild Italian sausage
- 1 pound hot Italian sausage
- 1 24 ounce jar Prego "Traditional" tomato sauce
- 1 28 ounce can crushed tomatoes
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- 52 ounces water
Instructions
- Preheated oven to 425° F.
- Bake sausage links in a foil lined 13”x9” pan for 30 minutes or until nicely browned.
- Cook ground beef in a large saucepan over medium high heat until no longer pink.
- Drain ground beef and return ground beef to saucepan.
- Add garlic powder and stir.
- Note: do not discard jar and can of Prego after next step.
- Add Prego and crushed tomatoes to saucepan.
- Add water to Prego jar and crushed tomato can, add water to saucepan.
- Resume cooking over medium heat.
- Cool sausage slightly then, using tongs and a sharp knife, chop sausage.
- Keep stirring sauce somewhat frequently and add sausage to saucepan.
- Simmer gently for 10-15 more minutes.
- Serve with pasta of your choice.
