Hi! I’m Lily.

After culinary school and while attending university she worked as a restaurant manager and private chef.  In addition, she helped run the culinary library on campus.  After graduating with an AAS in Culinary Arts and a BS Food Service Management she pursued a career in the food service industry.

She spent some time running a restaurant on campus at a prestigious university in Cambridge, Massachusetts followed by running a multi-million-dollar catering operation on a large pharmaceutical campus in south eastern Pennsylvania.

After getting burned out on the food service industry but wanting to keep her passion for food, she left the industry.  She continued to work on and shape her recipes over the years.  During which, she spent nearly 20 years in the pharmaceutical and medical device industry but has since retired to focus on other pursuits, including this website.

Her passion for food and new recipes has never faded.  After gathering and perfecting recipes for years she is now ready to share them with the world.  Please enjoy MommiesNommies and feel free to reach out to say “Hello.”

What IS Mommies Nommies?

Mommies Nommies is my personal collection of recipes that I love in a basic format.

Basic for a new folks that could use an extra hand in the kitchen, and basic for folks that have a bit more confidence in their cooking skills.

What you won’t find are advertisements, blocking points to your favorite recipes, too many pictures or too many (long winded) stories to wade through to get to the recipe you came for.

MommiesNommies is named this because when I eat my lunch at my desk, or anywhere other than the dining room table really, I end up with a very interested cat in my lap or on my desk.

I tend to argue, aloud, with the cat (typically Max) that these noms (a modern nickname for food) are Mommy’s Nommies.  Max proceeds to attempt to get to my food and I continue to argue, getting louder, about Mommy’s Nommies.  My cats don’t typically get people food so they are usually quite eager to have some.

As I live with no other people, typically, and work from home for my day job, I am able to argue with the cats more than I care to admit. 

So thus, my food has become Mommies Nommies.

As for the recipes, they are a collection that I have been working on for some time.  In fact, some recipes are from as far back as high school.

I have created or been inspired by these recipes enough to make them myself, more than once, and share them with you.
